When Mrs Margaret Thomson celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday she achieved a secret aim.

She had vowed to live in her own home until she was 90 and on Saturday achieved that aim.

Although failing in health, Mrs Thomson had remained at the Lockwood Rd address with the help of friends and relatives.

More than 60 of these people gathered by her for a party on Saturday at the home of Bob and Ruth Morris.

A special cake and card album highlighted the day's events.

Born on the property 'Curramara' near Naringaningalook on August 1, 1895, she grew up with a love of tennis which she played frequently on the property.

She married Thomas Thomson in 1932 and they farmed at Yarroweyah during the Second World War before moving to Shepparton in 1945.
