July 12, 1971: 'Puffing Billy' is back in business

The Australian Railway Society (Victorian Division) Katamatite tour on Saturday was a nostalgic, outstanding success.

In a 1906, romantic-type D3 steam engine, 190 people left from Melbourne to be joined by others at Seymour, Shepparton, Yabba North and Youanmite bringing the total to almost 350.

A feature of the Society's tour was a series of "photo stops," where amateur shutter-bugs clicked away as the engine rolled into various stations en route.
