May 8, 1980: Don't be fooled

These two could easily pass for short fair headed angles but on second looks the cheeky grins and revealing trousers give them away.

Under the guise of women's clothes are nine-year-old's Peter Armstrong (left) and Ian Munn.

The two grade four classes at Wilmot Rd Primary School, one headed by Mrs Jenkins and the other by Mr Watts, had a private challenge with each other.

Both classes were participating in the Keep Australia Beautiful Can collecting campaign and the class which collected the least cans would have to take the punishment - all the girls would have come to school in boys' clothes and all the boys in girls clothes!

Mrs Jenkins pupils were the unfortunate losers, but the combined effort of both classes, in collecting about 2000 cans, was a winner.
