Shepparton Urban Fire Brigade attended a record 252 calls in the past year.

Seventeen of these were house fries. 

The brigade received three bomb hoax calls, nine hoaxes and 19 false alarms with good intent. 

The figures were announced in the annual report, presented at the fireman's presentation night on Friday.

Eleven members were presented with awards and former captain Bill Wilson was recognised for his Order of Australia Medal.

Mr Morris Mitchell and Shepparton City Councillor Rich Trevaskis, received 30 year bars and life membership.

Mr Jim Jonas received a 25 year bar, Keith Cameron a 12 year bar.

Honorary life member certificates were awarded to Fireman Geoff Aisbett, Bill Morris, John Lear, Jack Cotrell, the late Dick Trevaskis, Don Porter and Neville Morris.
