The Mayor of Shepparton Cr Murray Slee this morning unveiled a plaque commemorating 100 years of service in Shepparton of the CBC Bank.

Cr Slee (left) is pictured congratulating present manger Mr Donald Williams on the 100 years.

The bank is situated on a site formerly occupied by Fairleys.

When first opened, the bank provided services consisting of accepting deposits of currency, gold dust and nuggets, the advancement of loans, the discounting of bills and the safe custody of personal belongings - a long way from the vast range of services offered today.
