September 2, 1977: Local hairdresser wins national award

October 25, 2017

A Shepparton hair salon has won a national award for the promotion of a new hair care product.

Steve Cseke and his two salons City Hair Styles and Villa Coiffure won the National Crisan Promotion Award from salons throughout Australia.

The award, in the form of a Mini-Moke, will be presented to Steve tomorrow in front of City Hair Styles by the National Manager of Wella (Australia) Mr Dieter Metz from Sydney.

Steve, who said the win was a result of great team work will in turn present the moke to the staff for their use.

Crisan is a special scalp and hair treatment brought out by Wella as the beginning of a complete new range of hair care products.

The idea was to get hair salons throughout Australia to promote the new product, with an award to the salon with the most successful advertising and promotion campaign.

Steve is pictured trimming the hair of one of his younger customers Rosemary Fehring (7) from Toolamba.

Steve and his staff of 12 got off to a good start with "Swing to Crisan" tee shirts and signs.

They also had the shops done out with the same idea of swinging to Crisan.

The back of the tee shirts follows the Crisan idea of "It pays to see a specialist every time," with "We are your hair specialists."

Steve came to Shepparton six years ago and opened Villa Coiffure.

Three years ago he took over City Hair Styles and today jointly manages the two salons.
