Reg and Norma Guppy, dairy farmers from Undera took seven calves to the scales last week and sold them for $5.50, and then, a couple of days later, sold a bottle for $175.

This was the record price paid for a Shepparton Brewery bottle with an embossed owl on the side.

Reg was digging in the paddocks recently preparing to plant willow trees when he unearthed a heap of buried bottles.

Both Reg and Norma were more excited about some of the bottles which had marbles inside and completely disregarded the bottle with the embossed owl.

While Reg and Norma were admiring the bottle with marbles inside, their three year old son Ian, was playing skittles with some of them, including the precious Brewery bottle.

Then, like all good stories which have a happy ending, Reg picked up an old copy of the Shepparton News and read a story we ran some months ago about the bottles.

So after reading this, both Norma and Reg remembered a bottle with something on the side, and thinking it may be one of the rare bottles ran out to find it.

Norma Guppy had 175 reasons to be happy, she had just sold a Shepparton Brewery bottle with the embossed owl for a record price.
