Music for a Warming World

A sumptuous afternoon tea, uplifting music and startling information all combine for a pleasant Sunday in Shepparton this weekend.

The event, “Music for a Warming World” is part of the annual Shepparton Festival and will be held on Sunday, March 18, at The Connection at Kid’s Town, just off The Causeway between Shepparton and Mooroopna.

Shepparton’s Slap Tomorrow has organised the Melbourne-based group to join the city’s annual festival as the message by the group is timely, important, entertaining and good fun.

Beyond that, the event, which starts at 2:00 pm and costs just $25, helps with furthering the aims of local young people through the “Cooking for a Better Future” program the enables them too gain experience in structuring, preparing and servicing meals, in this case afternoon tea.

Co-ordinator, Derek Poulton, said: “The aim of the 'Cooking For a Better Future' dinners is to assist Berry Street at risk youth by providing work experience in the hospitality industry. The project is a collaboration between students from Wanganaui Park Secondary College, Berry St, The Connection and Slap Tomorrow.”

Although not discounting the food, the Melbourne-based music group will be the star of the show as “Music For a Warming World” has taken its wonderful music and thought proving lyrics to audiences across Australia. Their music is accompanied by unique audiovisuals.
