Picking peaches to colour, Wes Johnson, 33, of Nambour, Queensland, on Wednesday blazed through an Invergordon orchard to fill 19 bins of Pullars in 10 hours.
The total time of 7 am to 6.30 pm included three half-hour breaks for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
The 6ft, 13 and a 1/2-stone Queenslander wears part of the secret of his success around his neck — a 112 lb capacity picking bag. Wes’s record, which will take some beating, was set on R.J. and K.L. Ash’s orchard. He earned $76 for the day.
